If the battery cannot be installed yet or the installation is significantly delayed, we recommend not installing the battery yet, but leaving it in the packaging. In accordance with the instructions, the modules can be stored in the packaging at normal ambient temperatures (<25 °C) without any problems for up to one year after production. The production date results from the serial number. See the following example:

In our experience, storage periods that briefly exceed one year are not a problem - but to be on the safe side, the voltage of the modules should be checked regularly.
If the battery is already installed (set up), it should normally be put into operation within one month in accordance with the BYD requirements. If this is not possible, the voltage should be checked regularly (according to the service guide) to ensure that the battery is not completely discharged.
In our experience, the battery discharges very slowly when it is switched off and can remain so for some time - however, BYD only guarantees this for a maximum of one month. We therefore recommend that you regularly check that the voltage does not drop and that damage to the battery may occur, which would not be covered by the guarantee.
